Dabei wird der Zeitraum, in dem laut der Verfügung künftig kein Contestbetrieb gestattet ist, auf den Zeitraum vom 1. Oktober bis 30. April begrenzt. Deutsche Funkamateure können also an Contesten in der 6-m-Hauptsaison von Anfang Mai bis Ende September teilnehmen.

Mit der Mitteilung 287/2019 wird das bisher in der Mitteilung 34/2016 enthaltene Contestverbot nun auf den in der Anlage 1 der AFuV nicht enthaltenen Frequenzbereich 50,03–50,08 MHz begrenzt und so der Contestbetrieb oberhalb 50,080 MHz ermöglicht. Die in der Mitteilung 287/2019 bis zum 31.12.2019 genannten sonstigen Bestimmungen, wie Verzicht auf Betriebsmeldung und telefonische Erreichbarkeit, gelten befristet bis zum Jahresende 2019 weiter.
